Turn up the heat on high bills, not the thermostat

We can help you reduce costs and your carbon footprint

Tenants

You don’t have to own your home to receive support from Warm Homes Suffolk - we’re able to help people who rent their property too!

If you meet the eligibility criteria then we will be able to provide a range of measures to make your home a warmer, more energy efficient place to be.

Apply on our website and ask your landlord to contact us for further details.

We only provide grants to private tenants (their landlords) and homeowners. We cannot provide grants for social housing, please contact your social housing provider.

Check your Eligibility

You can get help from Warm Homes Suffolk if your home meets the following criteria:

  • It has an EPC rating of D, E, F or G.

You must also meet one of the following criteria:

  • Your annual household income is under £36,000, before tax.

  • You live in a pre-qualified postcode.

  • You or someone in your household receive a means-tested benefit (excluding lodgers or those in full time education).

  • You have a severe or long-term health condition, which is adversely affected by living in a cold home and is a cardiovascular condition, a respiratory disease, limited mobility or immunosuppression.

If your home is in a pre-qualified postcode area, you do not need to meet the income criteria of the grant scheme. Use our pre-qualified postcode search tool on our website to see if you are in a pre-qualified area.

If you are unsure what your Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating is, you can check it here. If you do not have an EPC or it is expired, we may provide one or request your landlord for a new one.

Applications must be made by the tenant. If you have applied, let your landlord know, as we will need to speak to them as part of the application process.

Warm and Healthy

It’s no secret that living in a cold, damp or mouldy house doesn’t feel good. More than that, it’s been proven many times that it’s actually bad for your physical health.

By keeping your home warm you are less likely to get ill, especially with breathing-related problems. It will help ease aches and pains and it’s also great for your mental health. Being cold for long periods of time can lead to negative thoughts and feelings of depression, so by making your home is a warm one you’re far more likely to live a happier, healthier life.
